Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) is delighted to report that the prestigious national Green Flag Award has yet again been awarded to the Aquadrome, Chorleywood House Estate and Leavesden Country Park. The scores for the Aquadrome have increased this year to the maximum possible in all the aspects being judged. The award recognises the best parks and green spaces across the country. It is a sign that our TRDC public open spaces have very high standards, are well maintained and have excellent facilities. Thanks to TRDC staff and volunteers. …………………………………………………….

Following recent press coverage Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) is receiving a large volume of calls about suspected giant hogweed. Most calls refer to non-toxic cow parsley. Information is going to be put on the TRDC website which will explain the difference between the toxic giant hogweed ( purple stem with spikes, spotted leaves etc.) and cow parsley. TRDC will of course work to remove any of the toxic variety found anywhere in our parks and open spaces.

Lib Dems had Several Excellent Results in Council By Elections on Thursday

What a change 10 weeks makes! In Grove Ward in Kingston-on-Thames on May the 7th (the same day as the General Election) the Liberal Democrats won a by-election by just 28 votes. On Thursday in a second by-election in the same ward on a much reduced turnout they won by nearly 900 votes - with a 60% vote share!
