After Scotland decided to remain in the UK, Liberal Democrats are now working for a stronger Scotland within the UK.

This is an exciting time as now we can start delivering more powers to Scotland.

Commenting on the results, Nick Clegg said: "I'm absolutely delighted the Scottish people have taken this momentous decision to safeguard our family of nations for future generations.

"In a dangerous and uncertain world I have no doubt we are stronger, safer, and more prosperous together than we ever could be apart."

The Liberal Democrats have campaigned for greater devolution for decades and Nick Clegg was the first party leader to call for greater devolution to England and the rest of the UK.

Nick was also the first to call for a solution to the so-called West Lothian Question, whereby Scottish MPs can vote on devolved English issues on the same timetable as further devolution for Scotland.
