Liberal Democrats in Government… Promoting Economic Recovery

GDP figures released last week by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show encouraging signs of economic recovery thanks to Liberal Democrats in Government.

The figures show Britain's economic growth of 0.8% with a 2.5% rise in construction. demonstrating that Liberal Democrats in Government have helped to stabilise the economy. This recovery would not be happening without Liberal Democrats in Government.

Commenting, Liberal Democrat Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said:

"These GDP figures are encouraging and show that we are firmly on the road to economic recovery.

"This Government has set Britain on the right course by repairing the country's finances and helping to create 1.4 million new private sector jobs.

"We must continue to work hard to build a stronger economy and do it fairly, with investment in jobs and measures such as the increased personal tax allowance - putting more money in the pockets of hard-working people."
