Coalition Government Announces Nearly £2 Billion Investment in Britain’s Roads in 2014

As part of the Coalition Government's infrastructure investment programme £4.3 billion is being spent on Britain's roads.

£1.9 billion will be spent on 209 schemes in 2014 alone and this will support 9,500 construction jobs. This investment is estimated to provide a stimulus of £18.8 billion across the economy as a whole.

The Coalition Government 's total infrastructure investment package amounts to£100 billion over the 7 year life of the scheme. It is the largest tranche of infrastructure investment since the 1970's
