Brexit biggest threat to the NHS

Responding to Labour's announcements on the NHS on Tuesday 12th November, local Liberal Democrat MP candidate Sammy Barry commented:

"Our NHS is not safe in Labour's hands, because they won't say whether they will or won't campaign to stop Brexit, and a halt to Brexit is what the NHS needs. It is obvious that our NHS is not safe under the Conservatives as the last 9 years prove."

The are are about 100,000 staff vacancies in the NHS, freedom of movement and recognition of professional qualifications within the European Union means that many health and social care professionals currently working in the United Kingdom have come from other EU countries. Brexit will hurt the NHS and make the staffing crisis worse.
