£40m More for Local Sport Funds

Sport England last month announced a Community Sport Activation fund supported by the National Lottery designed to develop grassroots sports in a flexible manner. Local Liberal Democrat County Councillor (Tring & The Villages), Nick Hollinghurst, is calling on all local Sports Clubs to get on board and apply for extra funding from Sport England. He said: "This is the ideal opportunity for many local sports teams and groups to gain extra funding during a financially challenging time. Sports funding is under threat when money is so tight and the new funding from Sport England could ensure that Hertfordshire has a healthy sporting future. I urge all local clubs to go to the website and make an application straight away."
